武 士 [BUSHI] : soldier . 団 [DAN] : Group

The Heian era (794-1185) is known as the golden age of Japanese culture and art. It is also known as being Japan’s imperial court climax era, or, in other words, a time of thrive. During this period, the influence of the warrior class grew more and more, ending with the creation of Japan’s first military government ever. While the imperial court prospered, the provinces did not. As revolts became more frequent, each provincial lord demanded their best warriors from families living on their lands in order to set up a protection and defense force of their territory. These units would later become clans and take the name of Bushidan.

The warriors who formed a Bushidan were known as “bushi” and were among the elite of the warrior class at the time, before the word samurai was even invented.

From the moment we started working on the first sketches, we really liked the idea of creating our own pack, a family of machines in which each individual gives meaning to something bigger : the bushidan.

It took us more than a year to think, conceptualize, design and finally release our bushidan series. And we didn’t just shape another motorcycle : we created a machine that combines timeless aesthetics, great character and modern performance.

カワサキ [KAWASAKI] / W650

When choosing a base model for our series, we had specific criteria : we wanted a trustful and relatively modern machine, with soul and character.

So when we came across the Kawasaki W650, we knew we had found the one. In addition to its invigorating engine, the W650 is known to be particularly reliable compared to its big competitor, the Triumph Bonneville.

In addition to all of its great technical features, the W650’s engine has a bevel drive, which we found very charming, and reminiscent of older Ducatis.

It was when we heard the sound it made - with its original stock silencers - that we knew that this was the bike we were going to work on. We also knew that with a Panache upgrade, its roar would only get better.

美学 [AESTHETICS]

We have been working on four exclusive liveries in close collaboration with french designer Rémy Roland (2r14 Design).

Each can only be made once.

Nonetheless, each order includes a tailored 2r14 livery design and options integration.

アップグレード [Upgrades]

The list of modifications made to the bike is long. The engine, swingarm and part of the frame are the only original parts we have kept.

Everything else is to be modified or upgraded.

Here is the list of the major upgrades we are bringing to the original machine. This list is non-exhaustive. For any further modification, you can contact us at bushidan@panachecustoms.com.
